In form Arsenal look set to continue their unbeaten run at the Emirates Stadium against a tough-tackling Blackburn Rovers, unbeaten in seven matches.

Monday night’s fixture takes place at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal protect an unbeaten record this season, winning 11 and drawing two from 13 played at home this season. Emmanuel Adebayor’s late goal against Manchester City last weekend meant the Gunners score three times against Premiership opposition for the third time in succession, having beaten Fulham 3-0, Newcastle United 3-0 and then City 3-1.

Those results meant Arsene Wenger’s side recovered well from a somewhat embarrassing 1-1 home draw against lowly Birmingham City and the manager will be keen to continue this run of form. Adebayor’s double against City took his tally to eight in his last six matches.

Blackburn Rovers are enjoying a good run of form themselves and are unbeaten in their last seven Premiership matches. However, Mark Hughes’ side have followed up three successive victories against Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland and Derby County with three successive draws, goalless at home to Everton, 1-1 at Aston Villa and 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough.

Despite a lack of goals in recent matches, Rovers are sound enough on the road, winning and drawing five and losing just two out of 12 played this season and they will be keen to avaoid a repeat of last season’s 6-2 defeat.

Arsenal are unbeaten at the Emirates Stadium this season and it is difficult to make a case against them, especially since they destroyed Blackburn Rovers 6-2 last season and Mark Hughes’ side have drawn their last three matches. It is unlikely to be a banker home victory, given Rovers excellent record on the road this season and the fact they held the Gunners to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park earlier in the season. The visitors are likely to try and frustrate Arsene Wenger’s side and David Bentley will be keen to impress against his former employers.
