Austria or Poland could still make the quarter finals after grinding out a 1-1 draw on Thursday night.

Poland missed their chance to go level on points with Germany after Austria snatched a last-gasp draw. Roger Guerreriro gave the Poles the lead after half an hour but co-hosts Austria secured a tournament-saving point when Ivica Vastic scored from the penalty spot in second half injury time.

0 - 1 Roger Guerreiro (30 minutes)

Brazilian-born Roger Guerreiro converted a cross from Southampton striker Marek Saganowski but looked to be in an offside position.

1 - 1 Ivica Vastic (penalty, 90 minutes)

Mariusz Lewandowski brought Sebastien Proedl down in the penalty box and with mayhem all around him, substitute Ivica Vastic provided a cool head. The oldest player in Euro 2008, at 38 years old and the Austrian league’s player of the year, struck home the resulting penalty.

Martin Harknik misses a glorious chance to open the scoring for Austria after 10 minutes
