Basel 0 Sporting Lisbon 3 Highlights

Sporting Lisbon cruised to a 5-0 aggregate victory after dispatching Swiss champions Basel at St Jakob-Park on Thursday night.

Basel faced an uphill struggle after trailing 2-0 in the first leg but made the worst possible start when they conceded after just two minutes. Two further goals either side of half time condemned them to a hefty aggregate defeat.

0 - 1 Bruno Pereirinha (two minutes)

Joao Moutinho found Pereirinha who slotted into the bottom corner, meaning Basel now had to score four goals.

0 - 2 Liedson (41 minutes)

The Brazilian striker added Sporting’s second four minutes before the break with a chip over goalkeeper Louis Crayton.

0 - 3 Liedson (51 minutes)

The former Corinthians forward added his second of the night six minutes into the second half with a powerful effort from the edge of the box.
