The quarter final of the DFB Cup has some added spice with giants Bayern Munich taking on local rivals and 2nd Bundesliga outfit 1860 Munich.

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich face local rivals 1860 Munich in the quarter finals of the DFB Cup. The tie has added spice in that both sides play at the Allianz Arena but it is Bayern who boats a stronger “home” record this term. Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side have five wins and five draws from 10 matches played while 1860 Munich have won four, drawn four and lost three from 11 at home.

Bayern have got the better of their local rivals in recent years, beating them in the last eight Bundesliga fixtures. Bayern Munich reached this stage after narrowly defeating Wacker Berghausen in the first round, Borussia Monchengladbach in the second and Wuppertaler SV in the third while 1860 Munich saw off SC Verl in the first round, Mainz in the second and Alemannia Aachen in the third.

Bayern Munich should prove too strong an opponent for their local rivals 1860 Munich in a match where neither side can rely on home advantage.
