Birmingham City played out a 1-1 draw against Newcastle Uniteed in a result which will help neither side’s fight against relegation.

It was a familiar sight when Kevin Keegan’s struggling Newcastle side fell behind to a first half goal from James McFadden but Michael Owen salvaged a point with an equaliser 10 minutes after the break.

1 - 0 James McFadden (33 minutes)

The £5.75 million January signing from Everton scored his fourth goal in his last five matches when he latched onto a cross from David Murphy and slotted past Steve Harper.

1 - 1 Michael Owen (55 minutes)

Owen showed his predatory instinct to score his third goal in his last six matches when he fired in a rebound after Obafemi Martins saw his effort parried.
