Bolton Wanderers grabbed a late winner against highly fancied La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid to give them hope for the second leg in Spain.

After Atletico Madrid had cruised through their UEFA Cup group and with Bolton picking up a solitary win, the team from Spain were expected to win at the Reebok Stadium.

However, former Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf snatched a winning goal 16 minutes from time to give Gary Megson’s side a fighting chance of progressing to the next round.
