Celtic scraped a draw with Middlesbrough in their first Algarve Cup game and face a tough test against FA Cup finalists Cardiff City.

In another Algrave Cup match, Scottish champions Celtic will face Welsh side Cardiff City. Both teams have been linked with entry into the English Premiership, and will want to perform well in this Cup match to silence critics of this talk.

Cardiff City are based in the Welsh capital and currently play in the Football First Division after being promoted from the Second Division in 2003. Having won more Scottish league titles than any other club, they- along with rivals Rangers- have in previous years called for their inclusion in the English Premiership, which would provide them greater competition.

The repeated refusal of this proposal will make Celtic eager to exact revenge on Cardiff City, who has a chance to achieve what the Scots desire.
