Luiz Scolari get his first taste of the Champions League as Chelsea manager, knowing that this competition remains top of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s priority list.

Their main threat may come from Yoann Gourcuff, who is on a season long loan from Inter Milan. The young player has a lot of ability, but with it, a lot to prove at this level of football.

In team news for Bordeaux, they have concerns over the fitness of Brazilian defender Henrique, while both Mathieu Chalme and Benoit Tremoulinas are suspended.

Chelsea have scored two or more goals in three out of four so far while Bordeaux have seen four out of five finish with two or higher.
