Portugal became the first team to qualify for the quarter final stage after a convincing victory against the Czech Republic.
Portugal made beating the fancied Czech Republic look easy on Wednesday evening with goals from Deco, Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma. The Czech’s had equalised through Libor Sionko.
0 - 1 Deco (eight minutes)
The Barcelona midfielder scrambled the ball over the line at the second attempt to give Portugal the lead inside the opening 10 minutes.
1 - 1 Libor Sionko (17 minutes)
Former Rangers midfielder Sionko headed his side level nine minutes later from a corner kick.
1 - 2 Cristiano Ronaldo (63 minutes)
Ronaldo scored his first goal of the tournament with a low shot from just inside the penalty area.
1 - 3 Ricardo Quaresma (90 minutes)
Substitute Quaresma had only been on the pitch for 10 minutes and added a third when he tapped a Ronaldo pass into an empty net.
Sionko sees a header tipped over the bar which would have drawn the sides level at 2-2 with seven minutes remaining.
