In form Rochdale travel to Darlington for the first of two League Two play-off matches this weekened.

Darlington look like they are the favourites in this weekend’s play off semi final against Rochdale despite not beating them in two matches this season. Big things are expected from both Tommy Wright and Clark Keltie and Darlington will be looking to them to come through with the goals necessary to make the match a success.

Bad news came to David Stockdale who is currently suffering from a badly bruised foot but he is said to be determined to make an appearance in the match. He was injured in last Saturday’s bout against Peterborough United in which his team ended up with a 2-0 victory.

His determination to play was evident as he managed to play on for seven minutes after suffering the injury, before being replaced. Dave Penney will be happy with Przemyslaw Kazimierczak who came on in his place however, and it would be good to see him starting in the play off.

Rochdale will also be hungry for victory however. Rochdale will be happy with the news from Peterborough United that Rene Howe will be allowed to extend his stay with the club till the end of the playoffs. His performance this season has been credited with bringing a lot of victories to Rochdale. Chris Basham will also be playing in Darlington but that will be his last game with the team.

Darlington have not beaten Rochdale in four attempts in the last two seasons, including a disasterous 5-0 home reverse in October 2006.
