Manchester United went top of the Premiership after a narrow victory against league whipping boys Derby County.

Rock bottom Derby County almost pulled off a shock result after holding Manchester United to a goalless draw for 75 minutes. However, United found the breakthrough via top goal scorer Ronaldo and leapfrogged Arsenal at the top of the league.

Portuguese ace Ronaldo spared United’s blushes with 15 minutes left when he vollyed in a Wayne Rooney cross from eight yards.
