Everton 2 Fiorentina 0 Highlights

Despite beating Fiorentina 2-0 on the night, Everton were eliminated from the UEFA Cup via a penalty shoot out.

After losing the first leg 2-0 in Italy, Everton performed exceptionally well against Serie A opponents Fiorentina and dominated the return fixture at Goodison Park. David Moyes’s side dragged the aggregate score to 2-2 but Yakubu and Phil Jagielka both failed to score from the spot in the resulting penalty shoot out.

1 - 0 Andy Johnson (16 minutes)

A cross from Steven Pienaar eluded goalkeeper Sebastien Frey and bounced into the net off striker Johnson.

2 - 0 Mikel Arteta (67 minutes)

The midfield maestro unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards to level the aggregate score to 2-2.
