Spain were crowned Euro 2008 champions after Fernando Torres scored what proved to be the winner against Germany in the second half.

Spain ended their Euro 2008 campaign as they began, playing attractive attacking football and claimed their first major title for 44 years. Germany struggled to create any chances in the match and Luis Aragones’ side were worthy winners.

A pass from Xavi Hernandez created uncertainty for defender Philipp Lahm and Liverpool striker Torres outmuscled him off the ball and finished superbly past Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.
