Germany 2 Poland 0 Highlights

Germany eased to a 2-0 victory against local rivals Poland thanks to two goals from Polish-born Lukas Podolski on Sunday night.

This could have been a potential banana skill for highly fancied Germany but they were never in danger against an average Poland team. A goal in each half from Podolski secured all three points for Joachim Low’s team.

1 - 0 Lukas Podolski (20 minutes)

Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose displayed an unselfish side to slide the ball to club team mate Podolski who slid the ball home from close range.

2 - 0 Lukas Podolski (72 minutes)

Klose was involved again when his mistimed shot fell into the path of Podolski who volleyed in from inside the box with 18 minutes left on the clock.

Mario Gomez misses an early chance for Germany after unselfish play from Klose.

Marius Lewandowski fires a shot wide for Poland 10 minutes before the break.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger shoots over the bar from the edge of the box late on.
