English Premiership contenders Arsenal will take on little known Hungarian club Szombathelyi Haladas in a pre-season friendly which should see the Gunners trying out young prospects and new signings in an attempt to refine their squad ahead of their upcoming league and European campaign.

The Hungarian side, although much less experienced and lacking the international stardom of its much more glamorous rival, will relish the opportunity to play on such a high level and no doubt give Arsenal their best.

The Gunners had, by their high standards, an unsuccessful season in their last campaign. Arsenal’s opponents, Szombathelyi Hadalas, are a Hungarian club founded in 1919 who play in the Hunggarian First Division, NB I. They have a dubious history, having been docked points for using ineligible players in the 2006-07 season, but finished 1st in their league and will want to impress against a famous, successful club.
