A bottom of the table clash saw Kansas City Wizards pick up an important win against New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards collected three precious points but had goalkeeper Kevin Hartman to thank late on in the game as he made several key saves to preserve the lead.

1 - 0 Jimmy Conrad (11 minutes)

Conrad scored his fourth of the season when he headed home a corner from Claudio Lopez.

2 - 0 Davy Arnaud (47 minutes)

Midfielder Kurt Morsink slipped a pass behind the Red Bulls defence and found Arnaud who struck the ball first time with the outside of his foot.

2 - 1 Juan Pablo Angel (71 minutes)

The Wizards defence was caught napping and former Aston Villa striker Angel headed home a cross from Dane Richards from six yards.
