Colombian boxer Ricardo Torres has already had the better o Saturday opponent Kendall Holt, when he knocked him out in the eleventh round in September 2007. The victory came in Barranquilla, Colombia, but this time he has to defend his title in the glitzy backdrop of Las Vegas.

Since turning professional in 2001, Torres went on a winning streak of 28 victories (26 KOs) against opponents from Colombia and Puerto Rico before being knocked out by Miguel Cotto in 2005. Following the defeat against Cotto, Torres fought Mike Arnaoutis in November 2006 for the same WBO Light Welterweight belt which Cotto vacated and won by a narrow split decision.

Since his defeat to Torres, Holt returned to the ring in February this year and beat Ben Tackie at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas by a majority decision.

Torres has a professional career of 32 wins (28 KO) and one defeat in 33 bouts while Holt’s record stands at 23 wins (12 KO) and two defeats out of 25 bouts.
