Liverpool crushed West Ham United to move into fourth place, with star striker Fernando Torres netting a hat-trick.

Liverpool continued to rack up the points as they convincingly dismantled mid-table West Ham United at Anfield. Three goals for Torres and one for captain Steven Gerrard secured a convincing victory.

1 - 0 Fernando Torres (eight minutes)

Torres opened the scoring early on when he fired in Dirk Kuyt’s cross first time inside the penalty area.

2 - 0 Fernando Torres (60 minutes)

Kuty was the provider again for Torres’ second, providing a cross for him to head home.

3 - 0 Fernando Torres (81 minutes)

The Spanish international completed his hat-trick with a low finish from inside the area.

4 - 0 Steven Gerrard (83 minutes)

Captain Steven Gerrard latched onto a loose ball and fired into the roof of the net from 20 yards out to complete the rout.
