Villarreal earned their spot in this seasons competition by finishing second in La Liga, 10 points behind winners Real Madrid, but 10 points in front of Barcelona. They have added the likes of Ariel Ibagaza and USA wonderkid Kozy Altidore to an already impressive squad ready for this campaign.

Many people will remember their Champions League campaign back in 2006, when they were a Juan Riquelme penalty kick away from beating Arsenal in the semi finals. In team news for Villarreal, striker Giuseppe Rossi, who was once a Manchester United player, will miss the game with a thigh injury, as will Nihat Kahveci.
