Marseille fired in three second half goals during a 17-minute spell to earn a commanding first leg lead over Russian side Spartak Moscow.

After a shaky start to the match, Marseille began to take control of the match just before half-time and then hit a three-goal salvo during the second half.

1 - 0 Benoit Cheyrou (62 minutes)

Cheyrou headed in a cross from Samir Nasri to finally break the deadlock.

2 - 0 Taye Taiwo (68 minutes)

Cheyrou turned provider this time and delivered a cross for Taiwo to head in Marseille’s second.

3 - 0 Mamadou Niang (79 minutes)

Manchester City target Niang rounded off the win when he tapped into an empty net following an unselfish pass from Cisse.
