The Netherlands secured top spot in Group C after a stunning 4-1 victory against World Cup finalists France.

The Netherlands once again ran rampant in Euro 2008 and added France to their list of victims which already includes world champions Italy. Goals from Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder capped up an impressive display while Thierry Henry gave France brief hope with goal to make the score 2-1.

1 - 0 Dirk Kuyt (10 minutes)

Liverpool strike Kuyt broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the game when he headed in a corner from Rafael van der Vaart.

2 - 0 Robin Van Persie (59 minutes)

Half time substitute Robben crossed in for Kuyt’s replacement, Van Persie, to volley in from inside the six yard box.

2 - 1 Thierry Henry (71 minutes)

Former Arsenal striker Henry gave France hope when he got the slightest of touches on a Willy Sagnol cross.

3 - 1 Arjen Robben (72 minutes)

However, the Netherlands restored their two goal advantage almost immediately when Robben rifled in a shot from a tight angle.

4 - 1 Wesley Sneijder (90 minutes)

Real Madrid ace Sneijder netted his second goal of the tournament when he turned and blasted in from 20 yards with 90 minutes on the clock.
