Gus Hiddink’s magic has sparked again, this time at Euro 2008, as Russia recovered from an embarrassing opening game defeat against Spain to progress to the quarterfinals, but the youngest team in the tournament will need something truly special to overcome Hiddink’s country of birth.

More impressive than this, though, is their incredible teamwork and keen spirit. They will be a tough team to beat, if that is even possible.

The Russians are not be underestimated, however, as they have proved they can hold their own amongst the best. They overcame a great deal of pressure to beat a favoured Swedish outfit 2-0 in a comprehensive victory which could have seen them five to six goals ahead. If they can continue their current form, this match will be a close contest.

It is very difficult to see past anything but a convincing victory for the Netherlands. Marco Van Basten’s side scored nine goals in a group containing France, Italy and Romania and are the team to beat in Euro 2008 so far.
