Chelsea pay a visit to Champions League dark horses Olympiakos for the first leg of the last 16 Champions League clash on Tuesday night.

Chelsea will be favourites to progress in the Champions League at the expense of Olympiakos, after going through a relatively weak Group B unbeaten and finishing top with 12 points from six matches, equating to three wins and three draws.

Avram Grant’s side should be at full strength for the trip to Greece and welcome back a number of players who have returned from Africa Cup of nations duty. The likes of Michael Essien, Didier Drogra, Salomon Kalou and Jon Obi Mikel will boost the squad as they enter the latter stages of Europes premier competition.

Chelsea fans may have been pleased when they drew Greek champions Olympiakos in the last 16 but the side from Piraeus are something of dark horses in the competition this season. They finished on 11 points in Group C, the same as Real Madrid, but had to settle for second place due to a worse head-to-head record and lost just one game in six group stage matches. They are unbeaten at home in both the Champions League and Greek League this season and will not be the pushovers some may be expecting.

Chelsea are the bookmakers favourites to take a first leg advantage but the fact Olympiakos have not lost a game at home all season in either the Greek League, Greek Cup or Champions League cannot be ignored. Olympiakos destroyed Werder Bremen 3-0 and held both Lazio and Real Madrid to a draw at the Karaiskakis Stadium during the group stage while Chelsea, remember, dropped points in Norway to Rosenborg in the opening round of fixtures.
