Roma upset the odds by beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and knocked them out of the Champions League.

When Pepe saw red for Real Madrid after 71 minutes the writing was on the wall. Taddei scored two minutes later and while Raul gave them hope, an injury time winner for the Serie A club saw Madrid exit the Champions League at the last 16 stage for the fourth season running.

0 - 1 Rodrigo Taddei (73 minutes)

Real failed to deal with a cross and Brazilian midfielder Taddei outjumped Gago and powered in a six yard header that left goalkeeper Iker Casillas rooted to the spot.

1 - 1 Raul (73 minutes)

Robinho slipped the ball through to Raul who slotted in his 61st Champions League goal, although there was a hint of offside about his positioning.

1 - 2 Mirko Vucinic (90 minutes)

The striker from Montenegro headed in a cross from Christian Panucci two minutes into stoppage time to send Roma into the quarter finals.
