Spain earned a morale boosting victory against the USA ahead of their impending Euro 2008 campaign.

Spain earned a late victory against the USA thanks to Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez. Two victories in the space of a week will stand Luis Aragones’ side in good stead for next Tuesday’s opener against Russia.

Hernandez collected the ball from 25 yards out, beat two defenders and fired in from inside the area with 12 minutes remaining.
