As the second strongest team heading into this tournament, second only to world champions Italy, Spain will be looking to put their strength to good use against a youthful but talented Russia team. The Group D game sees the two favourites of the group matched against one another.

With a strike force boasting Fernando Torres and David Villa, supported by Xavi Alonso and Cesc Fabrigas in the midfield, Spain has a deadly attacking side with devastating pace and creativity. Their defense is a stronghold of experienced players lead by Carles Puyol and master Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Cassilias.

Despite occupying the lowest ranked team in Group D, this young Russian will definitely challenge for a place in the next rounds of the tournament and will be a good match for the rampant Spanish side.
