A late goal for Sporting Lisbon knocked Premiership opponents Bolton Wanderers out of the UEFA Cup.

Bolton Wanderers were the last remaining Premiership side to be eliminated from the UEFA Cup when they went down 2-1 on aggregate to Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon. The Trotters needed to score a goal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade to have any chance of progressing but succumbed to a goal themselves five minutes from the end.

1 - 0 Bruno Pereirinha (85 minutes)

Bolton were caught on the counter attack and midfielder Pereirinha curled in a superb effort from the edge of the area.
