Portuguese talent development masters Sporting Lisbon will come head to head with Roy Keane’s Sunderland in what should be a close fought exhibition match before the season officially gets under way.

Sporting Lisbon is actually a sporting club involved with many different disciplines, but is best known for its football club. Under the leadership of former Manchester United captain and Irish legend Roy Keane in his first undertaking as manager, the side has grown into a more mature and well-rounded outfit.

Despite finishing a distant 15th place in the English Premiership last season, they had a much better second half of the season and showed what they are capable of. However, they will have difficulty keeping up with a talented and exuberant Portugese club, and must rely on their physical dominance and defensive strength to challenge for the victory.
