Premiership contenders Arsenal continue their pre-season preparations with a match against German side Stuttgart. The Gunners had a dreadful finish to their season and will want to develop their fitness and team chemistry in order to avoid another burnout which could ruin their hopes of victory.

Stuttgart, the fifth largest football club in Germany and five-time national champions, managed to finish only in sixth place in last season’s Bundesliga, failing to repeat their title victory of the 2006-07 season. Goalkeeper and new acquisition Jens Lehmann will want to perform well this game against his former club.
