Tottenham Hotspur wrestled the Carling Cup away from holders Chelsea when Jonathan Woodgate scored the winning goal in extra time.

Chelsea looked set to retain the Carling Cup when Didier Drogbar gave the Blues a first half lead, but Spurs equalised through Dimitar Berbatov and Woodgate won it in dramatic fashion early in the first period of extra time.

0 - 1 Didier Drogba (39 minutes)

Spurs midfielder Didier Zorkora brought down Drogba and the Ivorian curled in the resulting free kick, leaving goalkeeper Paul Robinson rooted to the spot.

1 - 1 Dimitar Berbatov (penalty 70 minutes)

Wayne Bridge handled in the area and Berbatov rolled his penalty kick into the right of the goal after Peter Cech committed himself to the left.

2 - 1 Jonathan Woodgate (94 minutes)

Spurs found the winning goal four minutes into extra time when Cech could only punch a Jermaine Jenas free kick into Woodgate’s head and the ball rolled into an empty net.
