Wycombe Wanderers will be looking to beat Stockport County this time around. The last time the two sides met up, which was on 24 March at Adams Park, the match ended in a goalless draw. It was a disappointing match for the Blues but the fact of the matter is that they played as if they were trying not to lose, rather than as if they were going for victory.

With both sides determined to give nothing away, they both got what they deserved. Wycombe go into the match as favourites despite occupying the final play-off position and Stockport finishing the season in fourth. Stockport did their best to break into the top three and avoid the play-off lottery but 10 wins in their last 14 matches was not enough. Wycombe are in decent form themselves, winning eight of their last 14 matches of the season which saw them comfortably secure a play-off place, nine points ahead of Chesterfield who finished eighth. Wycombe have not scored a goal against County in their last three league meetings but won 2-0 at Adams Park in December 2006. Despite this, Paul Lambert’s side may have enough to take a slender lead to Edgeley Park for the second leg.
